There's No place like home

Well Well Well. I think this is the longest Ihave waited to post. So here we go. First off, this is what we woke up to this morning.

That's right, the first snow of the season! However, it's not enough to keep Caleb in, or have fun in. But it is a sign of many to come. I"m sure as time goes on, I will be posting about how much I hate snow!

I really don't have much going on this time around, I just wanted to post some pics of our new home decor.

And the big TA DA is our new living room furniture. Our leather couches and chairs from Ashley came in and we are LOVING THEM! And our new TV unit and sides tables which came from IO Metro.

Yes I took the pic above during Halloween and that is Snoopy and Schroeder!

This next pic is from a corner in our kitchen. I just love my vietri and HAD to take a pic of it.

I am currently in the process of decorating for Christmas and any one who knows me, will know that I will go OVER BOARD. At least we all hope anyways! So i'll post some of those pics when I get things in order.
I would also like to send a big Congrats to Amanda and Rick for getting married this weekend! It was a beautiful wedding and lots of fun. You can see some pics on her Photographer's website www.mattterry.biz Until then hope everyone enjoys the holiday shopping season. I know I am!

Update Please

Sorry guys! But this time I have a very good reason. We've completely moved into our first home! (please excuss me while I do a happy dance). But anyways, I have been a girl without internet for way too long! And please forgive me, because it's slow and takes at least an hour to upload pics. So first and for most I would like to post the pics that many of you have been waiting for (drumroll please). Pics of the house and what we have done to it. So we will begin with the deck. I'm assuming that no one has payed any attetion to this deck in so long. I mean it was turning gray!

However Caleb power washed it and we spent all Labor day weekend, doing exactly what the day was made for. Labor! I think things turned out pretty good. Please excuse the darkness of the photo, however this was the time of day that WE finished. Yes people I helped! As far fetched as it may seem, I kinda enjoyed it ::GASP::.

On to the next project. As many of you may have seen from my previous post the living room, dining room, kitchen and hall ways were painted two colors that should be baned from the paint store, UNLESS you are painting a small area that isn't surrounded by lights and windows that will change the wall colors as the day brightens and darkens. This is the color that we chose.

I have to say, this was perfect! Every wall in this house except for the ones belonging to a bathroom or a bedroom got this lovely treatment. I'm not real sure what the name of the actual color was. We got it from Lowes. I however call it Milk Chocolate, Starbucks Hot Chocolate and the occasional Poop Brown. And before you even ask it, I am not this ambitious. We paid someone to do this. And let me say it is the best money we ever spent! This guy worked so quickly I thought Ty Pennington was surely going to show up (kinda sad he didn't, but whatever). He started a 7 a.m and was done before we got home from work! That's impressive.

Also doing this long break from posting, we celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary. Yes time does fly. We didn't do anything special but take off of work. I mean come on guys, we just bought a house. Shesh. However, we did go by the nice Ashley Furniture store and bought some gourgeous (sp?) leather. I'll post pics of it when it gets here. Until next time. Ta Tas!

We got a house!

Okay, so a few of you know that we made an offer on a house and were accepted!! I have been getting a freaken TON of request to post some pics. So here is the best that I can do right now. They are not professional and were on the realitor's web site. I plan on doing a bit of re-decorating to this place.

The outside. Yes that is TOTAL brick/stone. there is NO siding.

The entry way. Now, what you don't see is that the previous owners painted this baby blue (not our taste). It will be re-painted.
The dinning room. This is the blue color that they painted in the entry way. Believe me this picture "tames" the color! Those are also pergo floors, ie. fake wood. Very nice.
This is the kitchen. Which I want to do a bit of updating with. First and foremost the wall color! Then eventually I would like to add granite counter tops, that I want to be darker than that white. There are also these Hidious blue knobs on the cabinets. They didn't have them placed in this picture. Also all the apliances convey and we get the bigger fridge that they were "hiding" in the garage. HA! We found it!

The living room fireplace. It's woodburning (which will get a TON of use this winter!). I would like to bring your attention to wall color, which Caleb call's Pepto Bismol Green. You know that feeling/look after you take pepto for your stomach. Yeah this pretty much matches that! It will be the Second room panted, the first being the kitchen.

Another picture of the living room. Now please over the the furniture. We will be putting leather in here, eventually.
1/2 of the HUGE yard. Scout already says she can't wait to run around in it!
I have a few more pics, but the don't really show much else. It is a 3 bedroom and 2 bath. The master bathroom has a HUGE closet, jacuzzi tub ::sigh:: and walk in shower. It has a pretty big deck and a future home for a hot tub (ie: a concret slab for it.) We should be closing on August 21st and we both are so ready to make this our own.

Our New Addition

Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to our new little addition. A little girl, with short black hair with white streaks. Here she is. . .

SCOUT. And before you tell me that is a boys name, you must read To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Then you will understand the name. Her nicknames also include but not limited to are Squirt, Girl, No (at least she thinks), Nerd-Bomber (yes I watch too much Full House) and occasionally "You Little Sh**". That last one usually comes after I catch her tearing up something, running around like crazy, eating random objects, or other random acts of what we don't think she needs done.

To get an understanding of how small she is.

Now she will not stay this small (thank God!). She is rat terrier and will get to be about 20 lbs. Which is just perfect for us at this moment.

Then there is the fact that she like to lay in the weirdest places! Like between the cusions of the couch, on my feet (she has a major foot fetish), and of course calebs head!

So far she has really brought us a lot of laughter and tiredness. We both are pretty late sleepers (ask our parents!) and getting up at 6:15 in the morning to take her out is beginning to be the pits. However, she is sleeping through the night, beginning to potty train (no number 2s in the house yet!), and eating well. So we can't complain too much.

On other news. I would like to send out a big congrats to Angie and John on there marriage. I know i'm 2 weeks late, but oh well. They had such a beautiful wedding and fun reception with yummy food! And Caleb even did the Cha Cha! Which I have to say was the highlight for me! Sadley I do not have a picture of the lovely couple, however I do have one of the ushers. And I have to say the tall one caught my eye. He cleans up pretty nicely.

Branson Or Bust

Well we actually had a pretty busy weekend. Patchez called and let us know that they were heading on up to Branson for the week. And well since it's on like a 2 hour trip for us, we decided to meet them up there and spend a bit of a weekend! So here is the blog for it!! Lame yes, I know.

We decided to go another route than we usually do. We usually go through Eureka Springs, however this time we decided to go through Gateway and enter right into Missouri. And let's just saw it was very "scenic". We even met a local on the way!

And from this blog post you are all going to see that we have very simple minds and find MANY things funny and interesting!

Well we got there and met Patchez and Kit at the Branson Landing. Which I have to say is very NICCCCCE. I absolutely LOVE the shopping there. Anywayz, after we ate a Joe's Crab Shack (which we also LOVE) the boys (having the short attention spans that they do) decided it would be fun to go on the Branson Train. . . . . . Ummm. . . Right. I have road this train once before and did NOT have a good time. It's extremly BORING! However, we being the good wives we are agreed to go with the boys. So these next few photos are of us being bored.

I actually like this photo, however while taking it Caleb said it wasn't placed right and grabed the camera while I pushed the button to take the pic. Needless to say, I have like 10 really fuzzy photos.

We did get one clear picture, even though you can see straight up my nostrils! OH well.
This was a rare picture and took many to get Kit to smile. I'm not going to say what Caleb was doing behind me to get him to smile. Actually I don't even know what he was doing, they said I didn't need to know!!

So about 10 minutes into the ride, the boys thought that they needed cards. I don't know if ya'll know this, but it's rather hard to buy cards while riding a train. Well that doesn't stop them! They can improvise!!

After the train ride, we went to The Track. Caleb was dieing to ride go-karts since he got jipped in Fort Walton.

I have a ton of pctures of this, but they aren't that interesting. After Go-Karts we went and ate at Texas Land and Cattle. Which was really good too! Food is just so much better some where else. especially when I don't have to cook it!!

The next few pics are just randoms that we though were "interesting". Hope you enjoy!

Seriously is there really such a thing??

Guess who was also in Branson.

Heck yeah that's the General Lee!

This one we just thought was funny. Look at the mascot on the sign.

A Pig. Selling Bar-B-Q. It just ain't right.

And last but not least!

Dag-Gum Mongrowlians!!

We ended up coming home on Sunday, but we still had a really good time. And hopefully we can do it again. So if anyone is coming up to Branson, let us know so we can come and visit!!

ONE WHOLE MONTH!

Okay, so I feel so bad and neglectful! It's been a whole month since i've blogged. Sorry :( But seriously in my defense I didn't think I had anything to blog on. So i went to download my pictures and discovered that I do have a few things to blog about.

So lets start with the fact that we got a new computer. It's very nice. Came with a 22 inch flat HD monitor, media center, a remote (yes, who knew we would need that?) and a fancy smancy printer. So sorry, this is the only picture that I have of it. The boys playing WarCraft. Please overlook the fact that our guestroom is a bit on the messy side.

Okay so this next picture is pretty self explainitory. Basically a job that I would never want to have. And I'm so happy to have a degree.

And for anyone who is playing a video game, knows what this comes from!

Last but not least, Yesterday was Caleb's Birthday! He turned the big 2-5! I was super nice to him and went and saw the new Indiana Jones movie. I would like to add now that I do not like the movies and told him that this was the ONLY weekend I would see this movie. So saturday we head out to see the 1:30 show. I have NEVER seen any of the films and this one did not spark my interest. First off, there are way too many one liners. ie: "We're getting too old for this" Ya think? And for ANY Indy fan, the ending is going to be a major "What the ______ ?" moment. I never saw them before and had that moment. I'm not gonna give away the ending because there are some people that would like to see it, but don't say I didn't warn you!

Sunday, we then went to The Outback for some yummy grub with some friends and then went to Starbucks to chill and relax and talk a bit. Sorry I forgot the camera for these.

Then Tuesday, his BIRTHDAY, I made a brownie. We all know he loves them! However, I got home late from work (didn't I tell ya'll I'm working EVERYDAY this week! Woop Woop!) and wanted to surprise him. So when I went to put the icing on the brownie, this is what happened.

Yes, I didn't let it cool all the way. And It got SO much worse as the night went on. So. . . all I did was cut it up this morning and sent it to work with Caleb. So no one will see it worse than this! And lets just say it got WORSE!

Last but not least, I'd like to give a shout out to some of my supporters! You know who ya'll are!

So I've Been Told . . .

That I have been slacking a bit on this blogg. (Sorry Mat and John!) However, I have a really funny picture of a night out with Caleb and Me. Let's start off with the setting. We were invited to a couples shower for Andrea and John at Andrea's sister (Vera's) house. Which I have to say is very nice!

But on the the funny part. Oh and by the way, I have used my AMAZING cropping skills to give you these fine photos. Mainly because it is just funnier!

So as many of you know a typical meal with Caleb starts off with a story. And lets not forget the motions to make you feel like you are actually there!

I must say on this next picture, I knew I made funny faces when he does this, but never actually pictured myself. However, thanks to our good friend Isaac, i now know!

I think its more of a why are we telling this again look than anything! However, I love him anyways!

We had a great time at the shower, just hanging out with our cool friends. And the bride and groom also got some really nice loot.
Not much else is going on. When we came back from our trip down south I ended up with the "sniffles", which I thought were allergies. However, I am finding out that this week they were not allergies but a cold. How do I know this? Caleb is now sick and milking it up! But I don't blame him, because I did the same. I mean a diet dr. pepper is just so much nicer when some one else brings it to you!
So here is my project for the week: I am going to try my hardest to finish my wedding shower scrapbook so that I can take it back south for mother's day. However, If anyone knows me, i'm a bit of a procrastinator. Which is why it's not finished yet! I'm gonna do it though. Maybe. :)

Okay I know. . .

It's been over 2 weeks since i've posted. BUT (don't you love that word) we haven't had much happen. :( The only exciting thing that has gone on is my parents came up here to see us. My dad has been saying he was going to come up here since October, but hunting always came in the way. Well not last weekend. Especially since the Turkeys suddenly become over sized ducks! (Flooding on Woodstock island). So up here they came. We were both very happy to see them and they even fed us Does! Which I have to say, if you grew up in the delta area you know all about the original Does in Greenville. If you don't here is a picture:

Let's just say things have not changed! And part of it's "charm" is when you walk through the front door, you walk through the kitchen! Yes the actual kitchen. Now don't get me wrong the food is really good and the tamales are AWESOME. But i would rather eat here:
The Does of Bentonville. It was a really good meal, just as we all remember (from way back when). However, we didn't have the "charm". Ha Ha.

Not much else is going on. I recently got another part time job working for a dentist in Rogers on Wednesdays of every week. She is super nice and so much fun. And even bought me scrubs!

On another note, my domestication process seems to be coming along slowly but surely. I've added Fried chicken and okra, Blueberry muffins (made from scratch! Gasp!) and Sourdough bread to my list of food preparations. All of which came out edible! The sourdough wasn't as good as I liked, but nice enough.

So, not seems to be it for this post. We are going home this weekend and eatin CRAWFISH! I'm so excited. You just cannot find any good crawfish for a decent price up here. Imagine that! Other than that, we will be visiting with family. So until next T.T.F.N (Ta Ta For Now).

BOR--RING

Since last time I updated was such a big update, I've been trying to find something to post on. And let me tell you, nothing has happened! Well actually something big did happen. After wanting to since October, I finally got much hair chopped off!! Seriously, it is above my shoulders and darker. I love it, but you will just have to wait for a picture. I can't get a good one taken, and I suck at taking pictures of myself. I am convinced that if you want to look at a zombie, then let me take a picture of myself. I looke like a zombie/horror movie chic. It' AIN'T pretty.

On an even cooler note, we finally got our wedding book! It's so much more than I EVER expected it to be. Matt Terry outdid himself. Ya'll check him out. http://www.mattterry.biz

That's leather ya'll!

And really thick pages! (i'm channelling Britney Spears for the moment)

So I know it was a short post, I have rented a few movies for this weekend. I'll try to watch them all and give updates on how bad/good I think they are.

And finally I would like to wish everyone a B-Lated Easter. You know me better late than never!

I made really cute and delicious cookies. YUM-O!

Fort Walton or Bust

So as I stated in my last post, we headed to the beach! However, it was not Destin but Fort Walton. Oops. Anyway, we had an agenda. Rather, I had to an agenda. I was to be Maid of Honor in my bestest (our word!) friend wedding. Miss Patchez. I have a lot of pictures and many funny stories to share!

The beginning of getting ready was of course, my pedicure. With the polish that Patchez insisted I get. Cayon Shrimp. A little bright for me (i'm a pink girl as we all know) but not terrible. And of course I had to wear my new shoes!

Okay, before you see this picture, you have to understand that we drove 5 hours home and then another 8 1/2 to Fort Walton. For a total of 13 1/2 HOURS. So Caleb was not feeling it too well.

He was a little bored, however once we got there he was fine.

The first place we ate at was Fudpuckers. Which I hate to say it, is mainly for there T-shirts. I will quote Kit in saying it was a $40 Captain D's meal. Meaning it was not that good. However, thanks to Patchez we got a cute picture together!

And we got a pic of the Future Longs.

I don't know if anyone can tell, but Kit doesn't like pictures!

The next day, aka Wedding Day, my mom was kind enough to take some pictures of us. I don't want to post them all, so i will post the one were we both are looking at the camera, Caleb's crocs aren't showing, my lazy eye is open and neither one of us has major fat rolls, double chins or anything embarassing to show. So this is the one it is!

I want to put it in black and white but haven't felt like playing with my photoshop yet.

Okay so after all that fun, we had a reason for being there. The wedding of course. So I picked this photo of us girls all ready for the festivities.

And look at Little Miss Thang! If she isn't going to be a heart breaker then I don't know who is!

And my mom asked Caleb if he could give Kit a word of advice. And of course his advice was . . .

Don't! We all know he was kidding and they both thought it was funny.

And the happy couple. Mr. and Mrs. Long.

A big thanx to Kit's sis, Jamie. Since I forgot to get a picture, I took this one from her MySpace!

And last but not least I would like to give a shout out to the Solid Gold Dancers!

After the wedding we went to the Lucky Snapper to have the reception. And there was a live band there. And needless to say these girls got there boogy on. This has got to be one of the highlights of the weekend. They were so cute!!
